Regarding our rates

Simple pricing.
No surprises.

Portable restroom pricing moves on four things: how long the unit stays, how often it is serviced, how far it is from the servicing yard, and whether it is on the ground in winter. All four appear as separate lines on our quotes.

  • ADA accessible unit$240 to $450 per 28-day cycle

  • Winter antifreeze$15 to $45 per unit per service, November to March
  • Mileage past 30 miles$2.50 to $4.50 per mile each way

How much does it cost to rent a porta potty in Minnesota?

A standard porta potty rental in Minnesota costs about $135 to $225 for a weekend event placement and about $175 to $325 for a 28-day rental with weekly service. ADA accessible units run $240 to $450 per 28-day cycle. A two-station restroom trailer runs $850 to $1,900 for a weekend. Winter placements from November through March add $15 to $45 per unit per service for antifreeze.

How many porta potties do I need?

For an event, start at one unit per 50 guests for four hours, then add 15 to 20 percent if alcohol is served and 20 to 30 percent if food is served. For a construction site, OSHA requires one toilet for crews of 20 or fewer, and one toilet seat plus one urinal per 40 workers on sites of 20 to 200 employees. At least 5 percent of the units in each cluster must be ADA accessible, minimum one.

How fast can you deliver a porta potty in Minnesota?

Next business day is standard across the Twin Cities metro, and same-day is often possible on orders placed before 10:00am Central. Greater Minnesota runs on dedicated routes rather than daily coverage, so plan on at least two business days there, and more in winter. Call and we will tell you the actual route day for your address.

What is included in the rental rate?

Delivery, placement and levelling, one service visit per week, and pickup. A service visit means the holding tank is pumped, the interior is sanitized, and toilet paper, hand sanitizer and deodorizer are restocked. Job-site accounts get a dated service log on request for the safety file.

Do porta potties freeze in a Minnesota winter?

An untreated unit will. The holding tank freezes into a mass that cannot be pumped and the door seal freezes shut. Preventing it takes an antifreeze charge matched to the expected temperature: rock salt works only above 0F, methanol protects to about -9F, magnesium chloride to about -26F, and a methanol and rock salt blend to roughly -40F. The Twin Cities average about 24 days at or below zero in a normal year.

What areas of Minnesota do you cover?

The Twin Cities seven-county metro is our densest coverage, and we book placements out to St. Cloud, Rochester, Mankato and Duluth. Delivery inside the metro is normally bundled into the rental rate. Past roughly 30 miles from the servicing yard, mileage is typically billed at $2.50 to $4.50 per mile each way.

Do you take a deposit?

Not before you approve a quote. Nothing is charged and no card is collected during quoting. Restroom trailers on peak summer Saturdays are the one case where the servicing hauler usually requires a deposit to hold a date, and that is stated on the quote before you agree to anything.

Where can the unit be placed on my site?

On firm level ground, with about 4 feet of clearance on the door side and a service truck able to reach within roughly 25 feet. Private property needs no permit. Anything set in a street, on a sidewalk or on park land needs city approval, and the rules differ by city.

Before delivery

What we need from your site

Six checks decide whether a delivery lands first time. A photograph of the intended spot sent with your enquiry prevents more failed drops than any amount of description.

Two standard portable restroom units staged side by side on firm level ground with clear truck access
  • Firm, level ground

Gravel, asphalt, compacted soil or turf that will carry a loaded truck.

  • 4 ft door clearance

Nothing swinging into a fence, a wall or a parked vehicle.

  • Truck within 25 ft

The service hose has a working reach. Longer runs slow the stop and cost more.

  • Overhead clearance

Watch mature tree canopy over driveways. A low branch line stops a service truck.

  • Winter access cleared

A plowed approach on the service day. A blocked drive turns a visit into a return trip.

  • Power for heated units

One dedicated 110V 20-amp circuit within safe cord reach of the placement.

At least 5 percent of the units in each cluster must be ADA accessible, with a minimum of one. Plan about one handwashing station per four restrooms.

Minnesota Event Permit Restroom Requirements by City

Minnesota has no statewide portable restroom requirement for events. Requirements are set city by city. Saint Paul is the strictest, requiring restrooms at any permitted event lasting two hours or more with the count set by Parks staff. Application deadlines range from 5 days in Elk River to 90 days for recurrent events in Saint Paul.
